Owner/artist Sasha Merritt brings a distinctive, trained eye to her cosmetic, hair restoration, and artistic tattoos and scar coverings.
Sasha was trained as a fine artist and painter before starting her career as a tattoo artist in 1997. She studied art at the University level and paints primarily with acrylics and watercolors. Her work has been featured in shows in San Francisco, and she received honorable mention in a national art competition.
Sasha began her career as a tattoo artist in 1997 at San Francisco’s Black & Blue Tattoo, first as an apprentice, then as an artist, gaining a solid foundation in tattooing. Since then, Sasha has tattooed at a variety of San Francisco shops, most notably with Laura Vida of Pacific Tattoo. Sasha has toured as a guest artist appearing at Blue Dragon in Phoenix, AZ; Original Skin in London, England; and 3rd Millennium in Worchester, England. In 2003, Sasha launched her own tattoo business to focus on developing her entrepreneurial skills as well as providing beautiful artistic and cosmetic tattoos for her clients. . She now is the owner and artist of Dragonfly Ink Custom Tattoo Studio in San Francisco.
Sasha’s permanent cosmetic tattoos, areola repigmentations, and hair replication tattoos are soft, authentic-looking, and individualized to the ideal size, shape, and skin-type of each client to replicate and enhance the client’s natural features.
The inspiration for Sasha’s artistic tattoos stems from her love of flowers and figurative work. As a fine artist, she has many years of experience creating three-dimensional images on two-dimensional surfaces. Sasha’s artistic tattoo designs run the gamut from fruits and plants to animals, Hindu goddesses, fairies, and portraits.
In addition to her technical skills, Sasha is gifted with a warm personality and provides her clients with a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere throughout the tattoo experience.
