Sasha Merritt

Owner/artist Sasha Merritt brings a distinctive artistic eye to her tattoo art.  Her works are inspired by the organic world.  From botanical tattoos (flowers, fruit,  plants, etc) to animal/marine life to figurative (Hindu goddess, fairies and portraits) Sasha designs tattoos that are alive with light/shadow and color. 

 

She is a painter in both acrylics and water colors.  She has studied fine art at the University level and has been featured in shows in San Francisco, and has won honorable mention in a national art competition. 

 

She started her career in 1997 at San Francisco's Black & Blue Tattoo, first as an apprentice, then as an artist, gaining a solid foundation in tattooing.  Since then, Sasha has tattooed at a variety of SF shops, most notably with Laura Vida of Pacific Tattoo. Sasha has toured as a guest artist, appearing at Blue Dragon in Phoenix, AZ; Original Skin in London, England; and 3rd Millennium in Worchester, England.  In 2003, Sasha decided to open a shop which focused on her own personal vision.  She now is the owner and artist of Dragonfly Ink Custom Tattoo Studio in San Francisco.

In addition to her technical skills and artistry Sasha is also gifted with a warm personality and provides her clients with a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere throughout their tattoo experience.
